Clarence Valley Close the Gap Day 2023

Clarence Valley Close the Gap is a day for all Aboriginal and non-Aboriginal people to come together to share and learn from each other while participating in engaging activities from local community service providers. A local committee made up of local Aboriginal organisations and mainstream service providers come together to plan and coordinate this huge event for the benefit of all.

What makes this event different?

WE ARE INCLUSIVE – we encourage Aboriginal and non-Aboriginal people to attend to learn from each other and to learn from the services provided on the day. A day with over 1200 school student and 400+ Community members, organisations, volunteers, and visiting communities.

THIS EVENT IS THE TRUE MEANING OF “IT TAKES A COMMUNITY”!

Each Service Provider engages community with an interactive activity to stimulate positive conversations and knowledge sharing. NO MORE PAMPHLET PUSHING!

We also have an amazing link in with South Sydney Rabbitohs players who attend the event to show their support of our locally led Close the Gap initiative. Thank you to Cody Walker for helping us organise this.

Thank you to all of our volunteers who rocked up and those who supplied volunteers Rotary Club of Maclean, Serco, Yamba Surf Lifesaving Club and Wesley Mission

Our CVCTG committee, THANK YOU!
