About Mudyala
Connects and Engages
Mudyala Aboriginal Corporation is an Aboriginal owned and run not-for-profit organisation that aims to support to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander youth in the Northern NSW Clarence Valley region. Our aim is to support young people and their families to connect and engage with education in a comfortable and culturally appropriate manner.
Builds Cultural pride
Mudyala Aboriginal Corporation operates programs to assist children and youths aged between 0 to 25 years old, to uplift and build cultural pride through sharing stories, art and dance. We use activities to engage at-risk youth by using culture as an avenue through which to be proud. Our work focuses on vulnerable children and youth from Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander families who are struggling financially or socially so they can better support their children’s needs.
Over 1 Million Hours of Learning
Since being founded in 2019, we have facilitated over 1 million hours of learning and play time through local kindergarten, preschool and school partnerships. Our team of 13 employees and volunteers includes a facilitator who works with local parents to help them navigate daily challenges like stigma from past schooling experiences which make it difficult for some of today’s young people to continue formal schooling.
